No guardamos ningún otro dato tuyo.

Menores

PoleLaps privacy policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Data controller

The controller of the data processed by PoleLaps and polelaps.com is Alfonso Carmona Figueroa. Contact: soporte@polelaps.com.

You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to that address (and delete it yourself as explained below). If you think your rights have not been properly handled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local authority.

Summary

The app needs no account and contains no ads or analytics. By default it sends nothing of yours to the internet: your sessions stay on your phone. The only thing it does by itself is download, at most once a day, the circuit list from polelaps.com in case there are new circuits; that download carries no data about you. Only the optional features you use on purpose send data: the online leaderboard, live sharing, sharing a session on the web and sending a suggestion, explained below.

Location

The app uses the precise location of the phone, or of an external GPS connected over Bluetooth, to measure your lap times while you record a session. Location is also used with the screen off, through a foreground service with a visible notification, only while recording is active. Sessions are stored only on your device, together with anything you note in them (notes, setup, tyres, pressures and track temperature), which is not sent anywhere either.

Online leaderboard (optional)

If you turn on “Send my times to the leaderboard” in the Online screen, the app sends our server the best lap of each session recorded on a library circuit: the name you choose, the circuit, the name of your bike or car, the lap time, the sector times, the date and time of the lap and the type of GPS used. Your track and location are not sent. These data are shown publicly on the circuit leaderboard.

There are no accounts: the app makes a random code on your phone to identify what you send, and the server only keeps a hashed version of it. You can delete all your times from the server in Online > “Delete my online times”, or by writing to us.

Live timing and groups (optional)

If you create or join a group (also when you tap “Share live”), while you are in it the app sends every second of your sessions your position (five points a second), speed, lean angle on a bike, metres into the lap, current lap, delta and lap times, with your name, the circuit and your bike or car. Anyone with the group's link or code can see it; only you and the other members give it out. You can leave the group whenever you want, and the server deletes the group and all its data 12 hours after the last activity.

PoleLaps Pod from a track-day organiser

If you ride with a PoleLaps Pod Live from a track-day organiser, the Pod sends the same as group live timing, with the name, bike and session the organiser gave it. The server also keeps your laps of that day (times, sectors, session, circuit and that name) so they aren't lost when you move to another group and so the organiser can regroup sessions by pace. Only the organiser sees them, in their panel. They are deleted automatically after 30 days; to have them deleted sooner, ask the organiser or write to us.

Each Pod is registered on the server with its serial number, a hashed version of its secret key and its status (battery, satellites, coverage, firmware version and circuit), so the organiser sees it in their panel. These are data about the Pod, not about you.

PoleLaps Pro subscription

If you subscribe to PoleLaps Pro, the payment is handled by Google Play with your Google account: we do not receive your name, email or card details. The app asks Google Play whether your subscription is active and keeps the answer on your phone so it works without coverage at the track. That answer is not included in Android backups. The subscription terms are at polelaps.com/condiciones.

Sharing a session on the web (optional)

If in a session you choose "Share > Web link" and tap "Create the link", the app sends our server the track of each lap (position and speed, at most 10 times per second), lap and sector times, the circuit, the date and time, the type of GPS, the rider (your online name, or the one set on the session) and the bike or car. Your notes and setup are not sent. Anyone with the link can see the session; the link is not listed in search engines. It is deleted 90 days after it was created, or sooner if you tap "Stop sharing". It is identified by the same random code as the leaderboard, stored hashed.

Suggestions (optional)

If you send a suggestion from the app (Settings > "Send a suggestion") or from polelaps.com/sugerencias, we store the text you write and, if you give it, the email or name to reply to you. From the app, the app version, phone model and Android version are added too, to reproduce bugs, and it is identified by the same random code as the leaderboard, stored hashed. On the web, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated programs (Cloudflare checks technical browser data to confirm you are a person), and to limit how many are sent we keep only a hashed version of your IP address, never the address itself. Only we read suggestions; they are not published and are deleted after a year at most.

Server

The server runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) as hosting provider. Like any web server it receives your IP address when you connect; we do not store it in the leaderboard or live databases. To limit abuse (for example, how many groups or links are created a day from one connection) we count requests with a hashed version of the IP address, never the address itself, and those counters are deleted the next day.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is used only to connect external GPS receivers (for example RaceBox or the PoleLaps Pod). With the PoleLaps Pod, the app checks its factory signature to know it is genuine; the Pod sends its position only to your phone. The app does not use Bluetooth to find out your location.

Files and videos

When you import a session or choose a video to add data to, the app reads only the file you select. Exported videos are saved to your gallery.

Sharing

Data only leaves your device if you choose to export or share a session or a video, through Android's share menu and with the app you pick.

Backups

The app's own backup (Settings > Backup) is a file saved wherever you choose; the app does not send it anywhere.

If Android backup is turned on, the system may include the app's data in your personal Google backup (except the subscription status). The developer has no access to that backup.

Deleting your data

PoleLaps has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. These are all the data there can be and how to delete them:

We keep no other data about you.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with its date.
