These terms apply to the PoleLaps app for Android, polelaps.com, api.polelaps.com and the PoleLaps Pro subscription. The provider is Alfonso Carmona Figueroa (contact: soporte@polelaps.com). How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
A GPS lap timer for circuits and closed venues. Times are worked out from the GPS position and are indicative: they do not replace official timing in a competition.
Use PoleLaps only on circuits and venues closed to traffic, never on public roads. Do not handle the phone while driving or riding: mount and set up the phone or GPS before going out. You alone are responsible for how you drive or ride.
The app is free and times without limit with the phone's GPS. PoleLaps Pro unlocks, among other things: external GPS with no time limit (free, the first 5 minutes of each session; then it carries on with the phone's GPS), group live timing without the 5-minute cut, the full corner-by-corner and voice coach, advanced telemetry, setup notes and comparisons, data export, and video and images without the mark. The current list is in the app's PoleLaps Pro screen. What is free or Pro may change between app versions; if something you pay for stops being included, we will tell you.
With a genuine PoleLaps Pod connected over Bluetooth, external GPS has no 5-minute limit even without PoleLaps Pro.
The leaderboard, group live timing and shared sessions are optional and run on our server. We do our best to keep them available, but they may fail or stop for maintenance, and they may change. There are daily limits to prevent abuse.
On the leaderboard and in live timing, the name you choose is visible to anyone: do not use other people's names, insults or illegal content, and do not send fake or tampered times. We may remove names, times or sessions that break these rules.
Your sessions are yours and are stored on your phone. Make backups (Settings > Backup): if you delete the app or lose the phone, we cannot recover them. Library circuits come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence).
PoleLaps is provided as is. We are not liable for damage arising from use against these terms (in particular, off circuits or handling the phone on the move), nor for failures of the GPS, the phone or coverage. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
If these terms change, we will publish the new version here with its date and, if the change affects you significantly, tell you in the app. They are governed by Spanish law; if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws of your country of residence and may go to the courts where you live.
